About Charlotte
Charlotte is a freelance video editor and director credited with many NZ, and overseas, TV programmes and documentaries.
She studied Image and Sound at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, while also following several courses (Ancient Mythology, History of Philosophy and Language Psychology) at the nearby University in Leiden.
During her studies she worked as a volunteer for Children's Television at Leiden's University Hospital. Initially wanting to be a camera operator, she discovered directing and creating animations were a better fit.
In 2000 she graduated with a BA and BMus, finishing her studies at the Conservatory with a 20 minute animation piece.
She then went on to study Screen Arts at Sheffield Hallam University, specialising in Film Directing and Sound Design and graduated in 2001 with an MA in Screen arts, while also having gained invaluable Avid editing experience during her time there.
In her working career she started off as a remote camera operator for several real life soaps made by Endemol Productions and the NOB, and after a year and half, she moved into editing for the national news in the Netherlands.
Since 2003 Charlotte has been based in Auckland, New Zealand and is now a freelance video editor and director with 14 years of professional experience.
She has worked for TV3, TVNZ, Screentime, The Warehouse Group, Whitebait TV, ADHB, Sunpix Ltd, Eyeworks, Tumanako Productions, Black Sand, Asia Vision and various other independent production companies.
If Charlotte's not editing TV Programmes, she'll be working on an animation, a TVC, a piece of music, a music video, or some graphics
